Peter Donovan

Pete has a particular focus on attention to detail and fine craftsmanship combined with clean indoor air construction systems that is unmatched. He has more than 30 years of experience in high end construction with his own company, Mastercraft Contracting and Remodeling. He has completed numerous projects in Manhattan, Westchester, including Scarsdale, Dutchess County and in Cape Cod, MA. Pete got his start meticulously restoring wooden boats in Green Harbor and Duxbury, MA.

Pete leads an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm and holds a number of professional designations; National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) Certified Remodeler, National Association Home Builders (NAHB) Certified Graduate Remodeler, and a Certified Aging in Place Specialist. His commitment to excellence defines the character and the quality of the work on each Healthy Home Builders project.


Jan Flanzer

Jan has first hand experience with complex air and water quality systems and brings her expertise to Healthy Home Builders as Managing Director. She understands that clean air and water directly effect a homeowner’s well being. The passion and energy she brings to the Healthy Home Builders team is a perfect complement to Pete’s meticulous craftsmanship. This partnership, and the amazing team of professionals Jan & Pete have assembled build extraordinary homes influenced by Jan’s knowledge of what clean indoor air, pure water and green, cost-saving energy can provide today’s smart homeowners.

We are proud to have chosen Bluepoint Environmental for air quality testing and certifications which perfectly complements our approach to a healthy indoor environment. Matthew DaRin, the Principal Owner & Indoor Environmental Hygienist at Bluepoint, brings to the HHB team a full-service indoor environmental quality consulting firm. Their multidisciplinary approach to diagnosing and resolving air quality problems in residential and commercial properties is unparalleled. The firm’s clients include: airports, commercial office buildings, hospitals and health care facilities, pharmaceutical clean rooms, restaurants and hotels, schools and universities. Matthew is currently pursuing his doctorate degree in Microbiology at SUNY College Of Environmental Science and Forestry. His dissertation is on the identification of volatile organic compounds in indoor air.


Russell Ackner

A 20-year marketing veteran and digital professional, Mr. Ackner has worked with/for companies ranging in size from start-ups to Fortune 500s. A versatile skill set and real-world experience have contributed to a track record of results-driven success and achievements for purposeful brands such as Healthy Home Builders. He has been repeatedly recognized as a forward thinking, innovative team member driven by a passion for sharing greater-good causes which makes him a natural fit for the Healthy Home Builders team.


Justin F. Minieri, AIA

Justin F. Minieri founded his firm in 1990. His body of work embraces various periods and architectural styles, with attention to proportion, scale, and details. His homes can be found in the most distinguished communities throughout the region, including waterfront residences in Southhampton, gated estates in Greenwich and Scarsdale, and horse country homes in Bedford.



Michael Finan is lead engineer and his proven track record of success and credentials of PE, LEED AP, Senior Project Manager are a strong addition to the project. Michael has also received numerous awards for excellence in structural, civil, environmental, and MEP engineering.


David Di Dio

David Di Dio has over 30 years experience in carpentry, craftsmanship, and project management. He has worked on a wide variety of projects from new construction and remodeling to custom cabinetry, furniture fabrications and installations. He is a master carpenter, has an artistic attention to fine details and takes pride in creating works that exceed expectation. He has comprehensive knowledge of home improvement and strives to create welcoming, comfortable and energy efficient homes.


Salerno Contracting, Inc.

Philip G. Salerno, owner of Salerno Contracting, Inc., has extensive carpentry, general contracting, and project management experience. Since 1988 he has worked in the Local 11 Carpenter’s Union and as a subcontractor for other construction firms. In 1997, he obtained a Tri-State Steel Homes distributorship and financed, managed, and constructed the first residential home built with all steel framing in the Putnam Valley, New York region. More recently, he has focused on solar an geothermal technologies. He holds a BA degree from Ithaca College.


Mino’s Painting & Carpentry

Carlos Mino has been perfecting his craft for over 10 years, working on various projects with Peter Donovan. Carlos’ attention to detail and meticulous work using VOC free and non-toxic finishes makes him the perfect choice for Healthy Home Builders. He’s now worked on three of our projects and continues to bring the latest clean-air painting innovations and education to the entire team.


Studer Design Associates

Studer Design Associates, founded by Craig Studer, strives to conceive and construct high quality environments that are aesthetically pleasing, functionally sound and contextually appropriate. Our ultimate goal is to create settings through careful planning and creative design that will transform ‘exterior space’ into ‘outdoor living rooms’ which will endure and actually improve with maturity and usage.
